Hexagon Pumpkin or Tree Mini Quilt

Skill level: Beginner (must be able to sew an accurate 1/4″ seam on a sewing machine)
* You must know how to accurately measure; use a rotary cutter; and know how to sew an accurate 1/4″ seam on your sewing machine.
Class length: 3 hours (handwork is done in class while the project is finished with a sewing machine at home).

Michele will teach a quick and easy way to create English paper pieced 1″ hexagons using scraps. Students will learn how to hand sew individual hexagons using the flatback stitch; piece them together to make a shape (pumpkin or tree); and applique the shape to a base fabric. Michele will also show how a border and binding can be added to create a 14″ x 17″ mini quilt; and can be hand or machine quilted plus embellished with seed beads.

*Please note that this is a FUN, stress free technique class; and the project will not be finished in class.
