Happy Halloween is actually 3 separate yet coordinated projects in one pattern. All projects feature rotary cutting and strip piecing while 2 quilts offer easy fusible machine applique!
Smiling Jack Quilt: A FUN quilt for your front door to welcome trick or treaters! This 36 1/2″ x 62″ quilt features a pieced pumpkin in two different shades of orange with an machine appliqued stem, and face. The pieced “BOO!” section adds a whimsical greeting.
Pumpkins on the Vine: This 32 1/2″ x 38″ quilt is a smaller version of Smiling Jack, and uses 6 different orange prints or make him scrappy! The stem and leaves are machine appliqued with a buttonhole stitch, and the vine is a machine satin stitch.
Checkerboard Pumpkin Pillow: Do you like to do counted cross stitch and quilting? Then this project is for you. I took the main pumpkin design and created a cross stitch chart for the 5″ x 6 1/2″ pillow center using 14 count Aida. A simple stripped fabric border is added to the pillow center to make a 15″ x 16 1/2″ finished pillow. The strips are easily hand quilted using 1/4″ quilters tape as a guide. A purchased bias binding finishes the pillow.
